Be warned, Civilization or Barbarism is both a technical and sophisticated scholarly work. Those who have never seriously studied the cultures and civilizations of Africa will find this book hard to understand, especially if one is unfamiliar with the great River Valley cultures of Africa or the large group of people who make up “la communaute’ poularophone”, an extremely large group of African people who speak Peul, Wolof or any of the many related languages and cultures. That notwithstanding, few books offer so much knowledge in so few pages, and readers of all levels can gain a significant amount of knowledge from it.
This book challenges the white assumption that Black Africans had no history and the so-called spirit of history never visited Africa… and the mis-information that Egypt was a part of European or Oriental cultures.
