Of all the Afrocentric books that you can read, Civilization or Barbarism: An Authentic Anthropology in particular will will enlighten you, make you question and understand history, religion, philosophy, the origins of the human race, and review every historical, religious, and science book that has been used to colonize and mis-educate the Black mind.
Be warned, Civilization or Barbarism is both a technical and sophisticated scholarly work. Those who have never seriously studied the cultures and civilizations of Africa will find this book hard to understand, especially if one is unfamiliar with the great River Valley cultures of Africa or the large group of people who make up “la communaute’ poularophone”, an extremely large group of African people who speak Peul, Wolof or any of the many related languages and cultures. That notwithstanding, few books offer so much knowledge in so few pages, and readers of all levels can gain a significant amount of knowledge from it.
This book challenges the white assumption that Black Africans had no history and the so-called spirit of history never visited Africa… and the mis-information that Egypt was a part of European or Oriental cultures. Many people are still influenced by this falsification of human history, and far too many still cling to it for emotional, nationalistic or ideological reasons. Civilization or Barbarism would remedy that, if only it was more widely read and circulated.
This book covers the whole spectrum of African anthropological evolution – from the first Black man to stand upright in Ethiopia to the arts ,music and philosophy of ancient Egypt.Civilization or Barbarism: An Authentic Anthropology is as complete a study as one can get.
